Introduction to Rawmarsh Community School
Rawmarsh Community School is a mixed 11-16 Comprehensive School with over 1100 students. We serve our community and see this as our central purpose. The vast majority of Rawmarsh families send their children to our school and, whilst Specialist School status is attracting pupils from outside Rawmarsh, our principal aim is to serve our community as effectively as we can.
Numbers in the school are expected to grow during the next two years and this will mean that the school will shortly reach its maximum capacity, in terms of present buildings.
Rawmarsh Community School is now a member of the Government’s Specialist Schools Programme. This means that we have been selected for special status - a reflection of the commitment, ambition and excellence of the school - not simply in sport, but also in many aspects of its work.
We are now known as a Sports College - a school which offers tremendous opportunities for participation and development in sport and other extra-curricular activities. Your child does not have to be gifted in sport to benefit from this. We are ambitious for all our children in every aspect of their learning and development in this school. Our status is a reflection of our commitment to excellence - your child will be given many opportunities to develop, in sport, in the classroom and in all aspects of their lives as students at Rawmarsh School.
We place an especially strong emphasis on achievement, both in sport and in all other aspects of learning. We strive to give our students the best possible learning opportunities, whilst emphasising that participation, commitment and personal enthusiasm, by them, is the key to their future success.

2009 Prospectus
The Prospectus is delivered to all Year 6 students in Rawmarsh cluster schools at the beginning of every school year. It is also available to any other members of the community upon request.
